How to Master Sofa Bed in 6 Simple Steps

The Layla Promise

Just like many other mattress companies, Layla promises to provide you with the most
1 thing that they did do, that most other businesses

Mattress based on those concerns.
The concerns of the customer was airflow, comfort, cooling, and wellness. The Layla
Company took all of these and made a comfortable mattress that has airflow, keeps you
cool, and is healthy for you.
Presenting The Layla
The Layla is the first ever dual sided copper infused memory foam mattress. The copper
helps to reduce joint inflammation and helps to ease joint pain and stiffness. This is one
Of the only mattresses that I have come across so far that targets those with rheumatoid

The copper that is used in the Layla also helps to promote better blood circulation. Have
Well, the mattress works
The exact same way as those bracelets. Copper emits antioxidants and anti-inflammatory
Properties and while you are sleeping, it's helping to increase your blood flow.
You will also notice a cooler sleep on the Layla. The reason for this is, once again, the
copper. Have you ever noticed that copper pipes are always so cold? The reason for this
Is because it doesn't hold on to the heat that is around it. So the makers of the Layla
mixed the copper with their open cell memory foam, which results in your mattress never

For me, this would be a really easy checkout procedure. You

It's very straightforward and easy to understand.

Shipping
Once your order is finalized, your mattress will then be prepared for shipping at No Cost
through FedEx to all 50 states from Phoenix, Arizona. The fact that they ship to all 50
States for free, or even at all, is pretty great. The Majority of the mattresses I have reviewed either

My Thoughts About The Box
There's really nothing spectacular about the box that Layla comes in.

their name, but I can only assume it is because what is on the inside of the box is more
important than what is on the outside. Hey, at least people wouldn't know what it is and
Are probably less likely to want to take it off of your porch while you are away.
Features & Benefits
Are you ready, folks?
That the Layla has to offer.
What Sets It Apart?
The main thing here that sets the Layla apart from All the other mattress is that it is
copper infused. As I stated earlier, copper has a lot of health benefits which includes
Better blood circulation, pain relief, and it has a cooling element.
Another thing that makes it different than most other mattresses on the market is that is
has two sides. If one side is too soft, you can take the cover off, flip the mattress over,
And you will have a more firm side to sleep on. This was something that I really enjoyed
About the mattress and I'll tell you why in a little bit.
There is also a lifetime warranty. Layla is the first bed in a box mattress company that
Offers a full lifetime warranty.
The last thing that I want to point out is that instead of donating a mattress to a homeless
Shelter or a homeless individual, the company will instead cover the cost to house a homeless

Cost of operation for each and every shelter in America, year round. They are only working with
Shelters in San Francisco currently, but they plan to expand to other cities nationwide.
Construction & Composition
Layla is constructed of just a few simple things:
The high density copper infused memory foam is the main part of this mattress. This is
Where you're going to get all of your comfort and cooling at the same time. This is on
The soft side has a layer of copper infused memory foam that provides the

The firm side has the comfort layer without the ridges. This side will still give you all of
the cooling effects, but with a more firm feel than the soft side.
So, as you can see, there really isn't much about the construction and composition of the
Layla. The layers are quite simple.
Comfort
A fantastic mattress would be pointless if it isn't comfortable, right? If your bed is
Uncomfortable, you may end up waking up sore, stiff, cranky, and even more tired
than when you started. Since the Layla has two different sides to it, I would like to break
it down for each side.

The soft side was a little too soft for my liking. I am a stomach sleeper, and since this
side was a lot softer than what I am use to, I sunk in and it was quite uncomfortable to
sleep. My husband wasn't keen on the soft side either because there wasn't enough
support for his back.
Since we do like to give our mattresses a few weeks to break in, I must say that each side
Did get a bit softer the longer I slept on it. The soft side didn't get much softer, but the
Firm side did soften up just the right amount.
Overall, it's pretty comfortable as soon as you figure out which side is ideal for you. If You're
A stomach sleeper or a back sleeper, I would definitely suggest the firmer side for
optimal comfort. If you are a side sleeper, you might choose to sleep on the softer side.
Support
The support of your mattress is extremely important, especially if you are already
suffering from back, hip, or neck pain. My husband suffers from moderate back pain
from his job and at night, all he wants to do is get into a comfortable bed that gives him
The support he needs.
Layla did not give him much support on the soft side. He found himself sinking in and
Not being able to sleep through the night. It was the identical way for me. I was tossing and
Turning, trying to find a comfortable spot that did not suck me in.
The night I flipped the mattress to the firm side, my husband and I slept during the
whole night. We woke up the next morning with no pain and he actually felt refreshed. In
my opinion, the soft side is for pure comfort and the firm side is for comfort and support.
Edge Support
For me, edge support is something which I take very seriously. I am a short person and my
bed frame is raised in the air. The last thing I need is failed attempts at getting in bed
because the edge of the bed gives out while I am trying to climb my way in. It's also a
Hassle at night if I roll close to the edge. If there is absolutely no edge support. I'm going to roll off
of the edge of the bed.
Layla had good edge support. It wasn't the greatest out of All the mattresses I have
tested, but it also isn't the worst. It is also quite difficult to find a memory foam mattress
That has exceptional edge support that may compete with an innerspring mattress. So a
Small lack in edge support is acceptable in this instance.
Motion Isolation
Motion isolation is important to me because I am a light sleeper and if my husband starts
to move around, i'll feel it and wake up. I don't know about you, but I enjoy sleeping
through the night. SO, how did the Layla do with motion isolation?
The soft side had less than desireable motion isolation. I could feel almost every
Movement that was made from the other side of the bed, and this is a CalKing bed we are
Talking about, so there's quite a little space between the two of us. Not to mention, I
Found myself rolling towards the center of the bed.
The firm side is where it is at. I felt nothing on the firm side of the mattress. I was able to
sleep through the night without being woken up by movement from the other side of the
bed. I was also staying on my side and not rolling towards the center. This was definitely
an improvement from the soft side. Check out the short clips below to see how a wine
Glass held up on the opposite side of the mattress while a 16 pound bowling ball creates
motion.
Temperature Regulation Features
The Layla is chocked full of temperature regulation features. First, it is copper infused.
The reason they use copper is because it naturally keeps heat away. It also helps to
relieve joint pain and inflammation. Anyway, the copper, when combined with the open
cell memory foam, creates a sleeping environment that never gets hot.
A mattress that does not get hot is Very Important in my house because are all hot
sleepers. If our body temperature raises even only a little bit, we will be dripping in sweat.
This is why I was so excited to have a mattress that promised to keep me cool all of the
time.
The cover of the mattress is also part of the cooling system. It has a ThermoGel finish,
Which is the reason why the cover will feel a little more springy and thick than other
Mattresses you may have come in contact with. This technology automatically keeps your
Body temperature regulated as you sleep because it is on the outside of the mattress rather
Than stuffed inside under a bunch of different layers. It starts to cool when moisture or
Humidity are present and only activates when needed.
So, did the Layla stay true to its temperature regulating promises?
Heat Retention
One of the most important tests I do for each of my mattresses, is the heat retention test.
This pretty much proves or disproves the heat temperature regulation features. What I do
Is take a sock filled with rice and heat it to as close to 130 degrees as I can get. I will then
Press it in the mattress until the surface is at 130 degrees. I will take my heat gun and
record how long it takes for that spot to cool down to average body temperature, which is
around 98 degree.
Therefore, for the soft side of the Layla, I found myself sweating while I was in bed. I want to
Say that this is because there are ridges in the foam and the heat gets trapped and just
lingers. It took around 30 seconds for it to cool down. It did not take the most time out of
All the mattresses I have tested, which is around 25-30 seconds, but it also was not the
best.
The firm side had a different outcome. It took 17 seconds for the mattress to cool down.
This had the 2nd fastest cool down rate out of all the mattresses I have tested. It was
Very noticeable while sleeping on it also. I was not sweating, I wasn't hot or
uncomfortable, and it was a cool sleeping experience.
Smell
I can't tell you how many times I have taken bedding out of the package or unrolled a
new mattress and was overwhelmed by a strong chemical/factory odor. When you first
Unroll the Layla, you may smell a slight "new product" odor, but it quickly goes away.
That is the only thing you are going to smell, which is great.
Sometimes, you may not smell anything while you are opening the mattress, but once you
Sleep on it, you can smell a slight odor. This cannot be said for Layla. I slept on it the
same night I unrolled it and I still didn't smell anything.
Durability & Quality of Construction
I do a comprehensive investigation of all the mattresses that come through my door. I will
check for loose seams, busted or well functioning zippers, the quality of the material, and
more. For Layla, I hit a couple of snags on the way, unfortunately.I had noticed that there were a few pulls in the thread once I opened the plastic. I
Can't say for sure whether this was from cutting the plastic or a factory defect. The
other thing I noticed was that the fabric aroun d the zipper was ripped.
This does not mean that the mattress is bad, this just means that I may have gotten one
that was flawed. The most important thing to do is as soon as you open a mattress,
inspect it because your warranty will cover manufacturer defects.
All in all, the mattress itself seems durable and the foams seemed nice and sturdy. Other
than the few flaws that I found, the overall durability and quality of construction is pretty
good. If you would like to add additional protection to your mattress, try out a mattress encasement.
This will help keep it clean, protected, and critter-free.
